Report Card Standards:
All report cards are standards based. This means that the skills listed on the report card are the expectations for the end of the year. A score of a 3 means that your child has met the first grade expectation for that concept. It is expected that a child will be at a one in the beginning of the year as they have not reached the end of the year goal. As the year goes on, children will be approaching the end of the year standard and will be moving to a 2 and then a 3. By the end of the year, if a child has gone beyond the first grade expectation, they may receive a 4.
These standards are based on the state standards for the different subject areas in first grade. Report cards will come home three times a year. For the first two report cards, please sign the envelope indicating that you have received and read the report card and return just the envelope to school to be used again.
Please don't hesitate to be in touch if you ever have a question about your child's report card!
